An Australian-style coffee and café, Bluestone Lane a great place to grab breakfast (or brunch) with a properly-done flat white. They have several locations and I’ve been a few times for lunch in the DUMBO location but this was my first time going for breakfast! Their West Village location has a cute outdoor seating with blankets provided to keep warm. You can find their menus here.
My friend and I met up really early to avoid the crowds, especially on the weekends, and ordered their signature BL Big Brekkie (which is basically like an English breakfast) and got their bread with ricotta and berry compote to share. They serve bread from Balthazar, a French bread bakery/restaurant located in Soho, and it is so good.

Their Big Brekkie is not for the faint of heart so it’s one of those dishes where you really need to have an appetite ready. There is sautéed kale, bacon, and chorizo, with an avo smash on toast with poached eggs, and finished with a grilled tomato and mushrooms. I honestly don’t even know how I had space to eat more bread after eating this monster!
I think our waitress was pretty impressed with the amount of food we were able to put away into our stomachs but I have to admit, I wasn’t really able to eat another meal for the rest of the day despite having this enormous breakfast at 9 in the morning.
