Lauded as one of the most Instagrammable ice cream joints in New York City, Taiyaki NYC made its mark in the city by serving soft serve ice cream inside a “taiyaki” (a Japanese fish-shaped bread normally filled with red bean or custard).
Since they’ve opened, they have expanded their menu to include the “croyaki”, a hybrid of a croissant and a taiyaki, as well as their vegan taro slushie. Once in a while, they will also have special decorations for their soft serves, like a Christmas tree or an Easter bunny! Over the summer, the unicorn taiyaki was extremely popular.
I prefer the custard taiyaki over the red bean and for those who just want it in a regular cone have that option as well! Their green tea and black sesame soft serve flavors are fairly popular.
