About

20170219_165637Hello! I’m Esther, an always-wanderlusting travel and food blogger based in New York City. A bit of background: I was born in São Paulo, Brazil and immigrated to the States when I was very young. I was raised in Los Angeles and moved to NYC in 2007 where I’ve been based for the last 10 years! I started traveling in 2014 after finally getting my green card and ever since then, I’ve been making an effort to make at least two international trips a year.

Because I have so much pent-up travel blues, I’m a fairly aggressive traveller – I have tourist must-sees on my travel itineraries but I also like to go off the beaten path and explore the country I’m visiting to really get to know the people and the culture. I do spend the most time in the major cities but I also make several day trips to other towns and regions as well.

I research and take notes for about a month prior to each trip – places to see, things to do, what to eat – and they have all been sitting in various Google Docs for a few years now. So, I started this blog! I figured it was a great way for others to see how much I spend on each trip, where I stayed (and the costs), ticket prices and where to book in advance, how long it takes to get from one place to another and how affordable it is. That way, people can budget and plan their travels a lot easier because they have more visibility! I also learn a lot during my travels and I thought it would be easier to share these anecdotes and show why these cities, these towns, are so incredibly special.

All the photos on my blog are taken by me (unless I’m in the photos, then it’s usually a friend) on my Galaxy S7 Edge. Older photos were taken on the Galaxy Note 4 and Note 5.
