The Wonders of Alhambra

The Wonders of Alhambra

Our last day in Granada was to accomplish one main goal: To finally see Alhambra. The official website has been updated and is far more user-friendly now but when we were booking tickets in May of 2017, it was far more difficult due to the information and navigational structure of the site. Now they make it very clear and I have outlined the details below. Continue reading “The Wonders of Alhambra”

The Land of a Thousand Castles

The Land of a Thousand Castles

TRAIN:
Sevilla Santa Justa to Granada
Travel Time: 3h 25min
Total: €90,45
Total per person: €30,15

We took an early morning train from Sevilla to Granada, where we would spend the next two days. Granada was the last stronghold of the moors that had invaded and conquered the city. Famous for Alhambra, it is a city filled with Islamic architecture, monumental churches, teahouses, street graffiti, and old-school tapas bars. Córdoba

TRAIN:
Sevilla Santa Justa to Córdoba Central
Travel Time: 45 minutes
Total: €62,40
Total per person: €31,20

We decided to do a day trip to Córdoba to further explore the Iberian Peninsula. Córdoba was known as the center of culture and learning in the Muslim Golden Age. An extra incentive to visit this city was La Fiesta de los Patios (Courtyard Festival). Continue reading “Córdoba”

Sevilla

TRAIN:
Madrid Atocha to Sevilla Santa Justa
Travel Time: 3h
Total: €211,20
Total per person: €70,40

We woke up at 6am to catch the train to Sevilla. The best part about our Airbnb in Madrid was that it is located 10 minutes’ walking distance from the train station! It was fairly long train ride so we got plenty of rest on the train and it was non-stop so we still managed to arrive in Sevilla before people started their day. Continue reading “Sevilla”

Our Last Adventure in Madrid

Our Last Adventure in Madrid

Our final friend finally joined us the previous night so we spent the entire day exploring the city streets and eating our hearts out and visiting a few cathedrals. It was so incredibly sunny in comparison to the day before so we spent as much time as we could outside! I just can’t get over the colors of all the buildings and the railings – it just makes the city look so bright and welcoming. Continue reading “Our Last Adventure in Madrid”
