First Street Garden

First Street Garden is an open art space serving the Lower East Side community where emerging artists, architects, community and cultural groups collaborate and create murals reflecting ongoing current activity in our society – whether they are politically motivated or supporting social activism. It is converted from a derelict building so there is a “run-down” feel but it’s a great way for the community to stay engaged and open dialogue surrounding our daily lives. The murals peppered throughout NYC give the city so much character – you’ve got the grafitti art in Bushwick, Brooklyn, artsy murals in the Lower East Side, and #LoveWalls in SoHo and Chelsea!
